Themed monthly cheese tastings with our expert cheesemonger, followed by carefully crafted seasonal dishes
Overview
Join us at Errington's Barn Cheese Club on the first Thursday of every month for a celebration of cheese and seasonal flavours. Each month, a new selection of cheeses and accompaniments will be carefully chosen based on the season and the best our artisanal producers can offer! Our expert cheesemonger will guide you in the cheese tasting and explain the wonderful craft and expertise behind these delicious products, focusing on flavours and pairing, as well as seasonality.
Our kitchen will also be serving an exclusive seasonal dish with paired wine or beer for those who wish for the full seasonal experience, putting forward quality local produce including from our own farm.
Exciting guest cheeses, bold flavours, fine wine and a convivial setting, we hope you join us for a celebration of food and the land it comes from!
Themes of 2026:
May – Tang, Zing and Everything Spring
Goat’s milk cheeses shine brightest in spring — lively, lemony, and bursting with fresh energy. This month we dive into the subtle art of chèvre: why it tastes so clean, how young goat’s cheeses are crafted, and what makes them such perfect partners for herbs, honey, and sunshine.
June – Sweet Summer Sheep
Early summer ewe’s milk is famously sweet, gentle, and creamy — a taste shaped by lush pastures and warm days. Join us for a deep dive into fresh and young sheep’s cheeses and discover why this milk makes such beautifully balanced, mellow flavours. We’ll share simple serving ideas that highlight their natural sweetness and soft texture.
July – Territorial Treasures
From Cheshire to Caerphilly, Britain’s territorial cheeses have been shaped by centuries of local tradition. This month we unwrap the stories behind these regional greats — why they’re crumbly or creamy, why they’re orange or pale, and why they remain the backbone of British cheese culture.
August – Aged to Perfection
Great hard cheeses are the result of patience, craft, and months of quiet transformation. This evening celebrates the deep, savoury complexity of Britain’s mature wheels — from sharp cheddars to aged sheep and goat wheels. We’ll explore how time shapes flavour, texture, and even colour, and share simple pairing ideas that let these cheeses shine.
September – Cheese at the Harvest Table
It’s harvest time — and cheese has never had better company. September brings apples, pears, chutneys, latesummer vegetables, grains, and warm spices. This month we explore the art of matching British cheeses with the flavours of early autumn, creating simple, stunning pairings that honour the season.
October – Fire & Funk
As the air cools and the evenings draw in, we turn to the boldest cheeses of the year: aromatic washed rinds and beautifully smoked wheels. We’ll explore how brine, beer, wine, and smoke transform flavour — and why these autumnready cheeses pair perfectly with crisp nights and cosy firesides.
November – Alpine Dreams, Local Wheels
Highpasture traditions meet British craftsmanship in this celebration of mountainstyle cheeses. Nutty, supple, and caramelrimmed, these wheels bring all the depth and comfort of alpine classics — but with a distinctly British accent. Learn what makes a cheese “alpine,” why these styles melt so beautifully, and how they capture the essence of cool weather comfort.
December – Cheese, Celebration and Community
Gather round the table for a true celebration of British cheese at its most indulgent. December brings rich flavours, cosy evenings, and abundant boards piled high with the year’s best. Learn how to build the ultimate festive cheeseboard that will please all your guests — from centrepieces to nibbles — and discover simple seasonal pairings that elevate every mouthful.
